Highlighting Northland Neighborhoods, Inc.’s October 17 breakfast are awards to three Northlanders who have made extraordinary contributions to the community. The 2008 Larry McManus Good Neighbor Award recipient is Habitat volunteer Charles Lamb; the Outstanding Public Service award recipient is Dave Mecklenburg, civic leader and insurance executive; and the Jay Dillingham Lifetime Achievement honoree is Anita Gorman, who is known regionally for her longtime contributions to the Northland, Kansas City, and the State of Missouri.
The breakfast buffet begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Intrigue Park Place Hotel, 1601 N. Universal Avenue in Kansas City, and the entire program will end promptly at 9 a.m. Tickets are affordably priced at $25 per person, $250 per table of 10. Sponsorships are available at $2,500, $1,000, $500 and $300 levels. This year, special sponsorships are available for the three award categories. All sponsorships include a table of 10 and special program recognition. All contributions are tax-deductible.
Northland Neighborhoods, Inc., located at 3015 NE Vivion Road, is a nonprofit community development corporation established in 1996 for the improvement and revitalization of neighborhoods in the Northland. All contributions to NNI are tax-deductible
NNI Board President Mary Jo Burton says the event is “an opportunity for neighborhood, business and government people to join in celebrating three Northlanders who have made extraordinary contributions to the Northland and to the community at-large.” Burton says proceeds from the event will help NNI maintain its public service programs and continue its comprehensive services to Northland neighborhood organizations.
